I am going to make a punch with green sherbet to get residents in the spirit of st. patricks day. A few days prior to the event I am going to do a craft where residents decorate their own st patricks day hat and they can wear it to to the event

My Administrator would only let me positiion a job opening on craigslist!!! not monster or careerbuilder. I started posting signs at nearby businesses and in the breakroom at work. I have interviewed a number of people and offered a position to about 3 who turned it down because of pay and the position is part time. Facility can hold 105 people. We are at a 100, right now.

2013-02-23 09:40:54 AM cheyanna1 i know its really hard the biggest change i have seen is the type of residents that we are getting its no longer the liitle old ladies and men who cant take care of themselves we are getting a lot of younger people 50s and 60s, homeless people and drug addicts. they tend to be very demanding also as far as staff they want the staff to do 10 different jobs and resporces are very limited the focus seems to be only on the budget and marketing it seems like companies care less about the residents and more about making money

I get the man telling me there are not enough male oriented activities, and the 30 40 yr olds who dont want to participate because they say activities are just for old people so they dont come..
2013-02-23 09:48:13 AM cheyanna1 i know its like pulling teeth to get our men to come to activities. the gameroom does help because it allows the younger group to get together on their own and do what they want we also have residents who dont come to activities because they want to sit out and smoke all day
2013-02-23 09:50:37 AM j82vazquez lol, The facility I work for now is a none smoking facility. I remember when it was part of activities to take smokers out and lite their cigarettes for them! I worked at a facility that did that two years ago.
