I would drop off magazines, copies of mind-stimulating games (http://www.puzzlechoice.com/pc/Puzzle_Choicex.html), books, etc... I would do this for 20 minutes in the morning and again in the afternoon. I would add to the cart depending on their interest. I also passed out copies of articles from the paper and the funnies. I counted all of these as daily 1:1s.
