2015-06-23 06:07:48 PM maninder i want to play the nickel game with my residents it sounds fun
2015-06-23 06:07:51 PM acollis03 I document both the participation and the nonparticipation to determine if they have declined or continuously refusing so then I can present it to the IDT Team in our meetings and during the residents care plan
2015-06-23 06:07:59 PM sherrij Do you have a certain form that you check who attended? Do you computer chart? Our activity person who retired did a lot of hand written charting.
2015-06-23 06:08:00 PM barbietcu i will have to scoll back to read about the nickle
2015-06-23 06:08:02 PM bjmorgan The nickel game is my 3rd most popular game next to Bingo and Chicken Foot.
2015-06-23 06:08:13 PM khovey But yes, better to chart something rather than nothing on each individual.
2015-06-23 06:08:16 PM gracie What is chicken foot?
2015-06-23 06:08:18 PM kathyhughes And then there are people who are loners and have been forever

2015-06-23 06:08:34 PM robing They took our Assisted Residents out of the CES charting system. I keep paper files on EVERYONE though. I keep my own paper records.

2015-06-23 06:08:39 PM acollis03 I love chicken foot! So do my residents its a domino game
2015-06-23 06:08:39 PM jorey We chart on what we call "Dailys" its all the activities residents attended and also what they did in their rooms. We chart "decline" if we are to make sure a certain resident attends but then refuses.
2015-06-23 06:08:46 PM barbietcu chicken foot???
2015-06-23 06:08:46 PM kathyhughes Its all a domino game
2015-06-23 06:08:49 PM mg1990x We had a huge clothing donation by a very generous family from our community, so we set up the dining room like a department store and let the residents shop and swap items. Then we set up up a cafe stay beverage and snack area outside. They were crazy about it

2015-06-23 06:09:44 PM ccoleman26 We computer chart. At my old facility we always charted what every resident was doing during an activity, to show that they were asked and refused or were resting. At my new place, they only chart when a residnet comes to an activity. They also chart the independent activities a residnet does and our 1:1's. But they don;t chart what every residnetis doing during an activity and I was thinking I had to for State. I'm just confused.
2015-06-23 06:09:45 PM ambercovey will have to try them out
2015-06-23 06:09:52 PM maninder we did speeches for fathers day and called the children of the residents to come and surprise them
2015-06-23 06:09:53 PM colette1 chicken foot
2015-06-23 06:09:55 PM bjmorgan We were in a parade for the Salt Festival last week

2015-06-23 06:10:13 PM jorey We have used to different charts. A weekly one and monthhly. The montly doesn't allow much extra so we swithed to weekly so we can write notes and such with the rest of the paper.
2015-06-23 06:10:25 PM pec1963 this weekend we are working with the 4H group and doing a county fair
2015-06-23 06:10:25 PM bcunniff11 the weekly one sounds good

2015-06-23 06:11:22 PM khovey We are taking our residents to a miniature horse farm. They each get their own mini to play with!! They do painted Horses with them, basically finger painting on the mini horses. And it's wheel chair accessible and walker friendly. Each resident gets their own helper. I CANT WAIT

2015-06-23 06:11:24 PM jorey We are working on charting on the computer. The nursing staff has first go around with the MATRIX System and after they work out the kink, activities will chart the same
2015-06-23 06:11:30 PM acollis03 I have a participation log and I have a 1:1 log book I like to keep these items seperate because it makes it a little more organized. Each book has tabs A-Z and is categorized by the last name I have a cover page which is their name, room number, motivators, interests, etc. also in the binder I keep a religion report of each residents religion listed and a diet report for food related activities these is what works best for me hope this helps
