2018-01-30 07:23:40 PM rickyd Our facility is very open and receptive to pets being allowed to visit. We have a "Pet Therapy" program; however, any resident with pets can bring them in for visits as long as we have an Rabies vac. on file. I love this, and so do our residents.

So for instance, we had a balloon in the room this afternoon that was blue, so I said "I spy with my little eye something that is BLUE" and they got it right away.

His owner went to another facility and couldn't take him, so the Charge Nurse adopted him and promised to bring him in everyday. She did, and the resident's loved him! They would always be by the Nurse's Station petting him! And he loved them too, he would just light up when someone came to visit!

A member of our Social Services department recently purchased a English Bull Terrier, and immediately deemed her the "Facility Dog." FYI: Bingo in on our weekly calendar at least twice counting week-ends, and sometimes we'll throw in an additional time, if something happens and we have to suffle the schedule.
