SO we're doing a BBQ with the usual hot dogs and hamburgers. Its hot dog month so we'll be having all the fixings for the hot dogs, baked beans, patriotic strawberry shortcake, we're making red, white and blue dream catchers, having outdoor games like water balloon toss, water gun play, I'm still searching for other crafts leading up to that day as well

They have an education part that caters to that. they come in with different animals an talk about them some they even get to pet. Its great the residents love it

They have trivia, movies, games, puzzles, activity ideas for holidays and themes, lower-functioning sensory programs. You can even use it to call Bingo. Although, my residents don't like technology as much as me. haha

2019-06-11 06:21:12 PM aclady What about car shows or bike show for those of you that may have car or bike clubs around that would be a good activitiy for the men and women too but you can have a part of the parking lot block off and let the resident go out and look at all the different types of cars or bikes. Let the driveres tell them about the cars or bikes and why they got in to the clubs.

2019-06-11 06:21:25 PM eckhartdanielle We used to do Fall Festivals with carnival type game "booths", petting zoos, face-painting, food trucks. The residents really liked it. Unfortunately budget cuts took them away for now.

I have found they like to feel useful and it helps with their visit with their loved one too. They see their loved one at the event and they are helping with the event. It has been a win win for me.
