2014-08-14 06:18:02 PM kleson03 yes kathy we do
2014-08-14 06:18:05 PM sonceegreen It is a constant struggle to educate them
2014-08-14 06:18:08 PM shottinger staff thinks we have a easy job to
2014-08-14 06:18:10 PM amanda33 yes cna and nurses especially
2014-08-14 06:18:12 PM tubbsretricia yes we have to
2014-08-14 06:18:14 PM kathyhughes We are the edicators for activities
2014-08-14 06:18:16 PM pawood she stated work together or leave most dont look at it that way
2014-08-14 06:18:30 PM kathyhughes and the other staff just sees our end results
2014-08-14 06:18:34 PM debbie134 I will buy her flowers because she tells her staff that they need to help transport etc. She is a firm beleiver in a total team, not departments.
2014-08-14 06:18:35 PM katcarpender my staff totally thought that too. that i was just a babysitter
2014-08-14 06:18:50 PM kathyhughes and they don't see the rest that goes into doing activities
2014-08-14 06:18:55 PM alex21 left the chat room
2014-08-14 06:18:55 PM shottinger they have no idea about the planning we do
2014-08-14 06:18:58 PM sonceegreen My DON only thinks of activities when they have a problem resident
2014-08-14 06:18:59 PM charmaine Yes, people think it is just fun and games but don't realize there is work too!
2014-08-14 06:19:00 PM terridenisetyler no they don't
2014-08-14 06:19:04 PM amanda33 exactly
2014-08-14 06:19:05 PM tubbsretricia well it is hard to work together when other department will not
2014-08-14 06:19:07 PM katcarpender never wanted to help or really get involved. really didn't help the mood....
2014-08-14 06:19:10 PM shottinger they bumming around they community we do
2014-08-14 06:19:16 PM aferguson I have initiated doing in-services, and such, but my administration didn't support it until I had completed this and my CNA training-I guess I understand, its just in the meantime, no one has a clue why I am advocating for things, and I feel I rub other staff wrong because of it
2014-08-14 06:19:33 PM shottinger the hours it takes to make calanders and put them together
2014-08-14 06:19:34 PM kathyhughes So perhaps a beginning is to teach them about the regulations for activities
2014-08-14 06:19:35 PM mariasweet Most people who don't work in activities think it's just fun and games
2014-08-14 06:19:50 PM kleson03 true!!!
2014-08-14 06:19:50 PM katcarpender exactly!!!
2014-08-14 06:19:52 PM carolynlnig Goals on our care plans are to meet the needs and interests of residents and/or participants
2014-08-14 06:19:56 PM terridenisetyler yep
2014-08-14 06:19:57 PM kathyhughes It is fun and games
2014-08-14 06:20:02 PM katcarpender of course
2014-08-14 06:20:05 PM mariasweet They don't see the prep or invovlement behind the scenes
2014-08-14 06:20:07 PM tubbsretricia they will not listen to me. I have tired so hard
2014-08-14 06:20:07 PM kathyhughes and they need to know what else we do
2014-08-14 06:20:10 PM kathyhughes right
2014-08-14 06:20:11 PM amanda33 its hard as activy assistant i cNt say much
2014-08-14 06:20:12 PM charmaine This class was eye opening on collaboration!
2014-08-14 06:20:14 PM terridenisetyler it's what we make it
2014-08-14 06:20:15 PM pawood i dont know how many other homes have to sit in on fall meetings but at my place i am required to be at several meetings. so the nursing staff is aware of my input and how much activities plays a role everyday
2014-08-14 06:20:16 PM sonceegreen during orientation I try to explain the importance of activities
2014-08-14 06:20:16 PM debbie134 My CNAs realize that if I have the residents in activities, their workload is less. For the most part, they are eager to help.
2014-08-14 06:20:17 PM tubbsretricia right
2014-08-14 06:20:20 PM aferguson Yeah-I did a nursing in-service and got quite the reaction when I discussed the federal mandate
2014-08-14 06:20:28 PM shottinger i do in my yearly inservice for aides...but they dont listen
2014-08-14 06:20:35 PM carolynlnig great, pawood!!
2014-08-14 06:20:35 PM katcarpender nope
2014-08-14 06:20:56 PM shottinger stuff improves when state is around sadly
2014-08-14 06:20:57 PM tubbsretricia I cannot even get an inservice
2014-08-14 06:20:57 PM kathyhughes so doing an inservice about the activities regs and giving everyone a copy of Ftag248 would let them know
2014-08-14 06:21:09 PM terridenisetyler true
2014-08-14 06:21:10 PM pawood our nursing instructor adds several pieces of activities into her training
2014-08-14 06:21:13 PM tubbsretricia okay I will try that
2014-08-14 06:21:19 PM charmaine For sure!
2014-08-14 06:21:26 PM carolynlnig pawood, you are fortunate!
2014-08-14 06:21:32 PM aferguson and in-services don't work-I have noticed what does is when other disciplines observe changes in behavior-like someone more engaged, less agitated, smiling, etc. You have to get the other disciplines to believe in what you do
2014-08-14 06:21:32 PM amanda33 yes onlyvif i had that power to b allowed to
2014-08-14 06:21:33 PM katcarpender they act all motivated and can't wait to plan and get engaged just so they look good infront of the head honcho's then i get nothing after the meeting
2014-08-14 06:21:37 PM kathyhughes but does the nursing instructor know what you do?
2014-08-14 06:21:38 PM jackie3 enter the chat room
2014-08-14 06:21:52 PM jackie3 sorry...got kicked out or something
2014-08-14 06:21:53 PM pawood we do have great team work just not on the units
2014-08-14 06:21:55 PM kathyhughes Hello Jackie
2014-08-14 06:22:07 PM mariasweet During orientation, I give out little packages of a tablet , pen and candy or gum as a small token from activities.
2014-08-14 06:22:10 PM jackie3 hello again lol
2014-08-14 06:22:10 PM tubbsretricia yes and the administrator agrees with her. maybe he don"t know
2014-08-14 06:22:12 PM shottinger i am lucky to be very close to my nurse manager
2014-08-14 06:22:28 PM charmaine Nice Maria!
2014-08-14 06:22:38 PM sonceegreen will try that Maria
2014-08-14 06:22:38 PM pawood yes she does we sit down and go thru what she should use and i also give her pieces to add in we work well together
2014-08-14 06:22:40 PM jackie3 are we discussing teamwork
2014-08-14 06:22:50 PM katcarpender "teamwork", yes....
2014-08-14 06:22:53 PM kathyhughes Time to just ask for an inservice and to give everyone a copy of the regs for activities even during orientation
2014-08-14 06:22:56 PM mariasweet and when I extra party favors or food I dhare with nursing
2014-08-14 06:23:08 PM tubbsretricia okay
2014-08-14 06:23:17 PM katcarpender if our CNA's are helping or just making it worse or just dont care
2014-08-14 06:23:22 PM amanda33 inservice b great
2014-08-14 06:23:25 PM kathyhughes time to do a trivia contest on activities and why we are there
2014-08-14 06:23:26 PM charmaine I learned a lot from them!
2014-08-14 06:23:31 PM carolynlnig Maariaswweet, ahhh the old food enters the picture...lol
2014-08-14 06:23:37 PM pawood we had nursing using the clean linen rooms for food
2014-08-14 06:23:37 PM shottinger i have a nurse is all about the food part lol then the rest shes MIA
2014-08-14 06:23:40 PM aferguson I am on the week where we learn about learning styles and personality types-I feel rapport, and empowering other staff to bring their passions to augment activities also goes a long way in their buy in and support of activities
2014-08-14 06:23:48 PM jackie3 trivia....do you have an example
2014-08-14 06:23:50 PM terridenisetyler they need to remember happy residents happy CNA
2014-08-14 06:23:51 PM tubbsretricia That might work
2014-08-14 06:23:52 PM amanda33 kh my they would fail at thT kathy
2014-08-14 06:24:00 PM mariasweet yup! it works!
2014-08-14 06:24:02 PM katcarpender indeed!!
2014-08-14 06:24:08 PM noemi enter the chat room
2014-08-14 06:24:10 PM kathyhughes You all have to remember that CNA's and nursing are very task oriented
2014-08-14 06:24:13 PM charmaine Yes Terri
2014-08-14 06:24:18 PM noemi hey is it too late to chat
2014-08-14 06:24:21 PM shottinger i am a cna also
2014-08-14 06:24:25 PM kathyhughes and that they have a whole bunch of things that have to get done
2014-08-14 06:24:30 PM terridenisetyler me too
2014-08-14 06:24:30 PM kathyhughes Hello Noemi
2014-08-14 06:24:40 PM carolynlnig noemi, never too late to chat
2014-08-14 06:24:44 PM katcarpender totally understandable but... where do we fit in?
2014-08-14 06:24:50 PM terridenisetyler they do have hard jobs too
2014-08-14 06:25:00 PM aferguson Yes, I agree, and so how to help those tasks be easier by them being done paired with a preference or a hobby perhaps-such as music in the bath
2014-08-14 06:25:01 PM mariasweet I agree
2014-08-14 06:25:05 PM noemi okay
2014-08-14 06:25:12 PM tubbsretricia Yes I know they work really hard
2014-08-14 06:25:17 PM terridenisetyler they need to put the resident first always
2014-08-14 06:25:20 PM shottinger it is but if you help activities it helps CNAs sooo much
2014-08-14 06:25:23 PM katcarpender and its totally appreciated
2014-08-14 06:25:29 PM shottinger they dont get tht
2014-08-14 06:25:33 PM terridenisetyler yep
2014-08-14 06:25:37 PM noemi no they don't
2014-08-14 06:25:39 PM shottinger espically outside act.
2014-08-14 06:25:39 PM debbie134 CNAs do have very hard jobs. This is why I stress to my staff that thanking the CNAs and ackwoldging what they do works wonders.
2014-08-14 06:25:42 PM kleson03 very true being that i am a cna i know that it is very hard and theres alot of work but we all need to work together
2014-08-14 06:25:45 PM sonceegreen left the chat room
2014-08-14 06:25:48 PM kathyhughes So what can we do to teach CNA's and nursing about activities
2014-08-14 06:25:55 PM amanda33 agreed
2014-08-14 06:26:00 PM terridenisetyler true
2014-08-14 06:26:02 PM kathyhughes What would make their jobs easier?
2014-08-14 06:26:03 PM sonceegreen enter the chat room
2014-08-14 06:26:04 PM pawood i dont disagree with that. however i have one activity aid on evenings 3-11 she gets no help and will have 10-20 demenia residents in d.r. for a program
2014-08-14 06:26:04 PM carolynlnig debbie, good. thank and appreciate what they can do
2014-08-14 06:26:10 PM jackie3 @kathyhughes do you have a trivia example
2014-08-14 06:26:10 PM finman enter the chat room
2014-08-14 06:26:11 PM janice13 enter the chat room
2014-08-14 06:26:20 PM noemi maybe once a week one of them can attend an activity for awhile
2014-08-14 06:26:23 PM kathyhughes Hello Janice and Felicia
2014-08-14 06:26:24 PM sonceegreen left the chat room
2014-08-14 06:26:25 PM finman ok I think I found everyone yay!!!
2014-08-14 06:26:29 PM janice13 sorry i am late had back to school night

2014-08-14 06:26:33 PM finman hello Kathy!!
2014-08-14 06:26:36 PM mariasweet sounds good noemi
2014-08-14 06:26:43 PM janice13 hello everyone
2014-08-14 06:26:45 PM katcarpender sorry kelson03- def didn't mean to offend you in any way !
2014-08-14 06:26:47 PM sonceegreen enter the chat room
2014-08-14 06:26:49 PM mariasweet hi
2014-08-14 06:27:06 PM aferguson Start with federal mandate-Ftag 249 so they realize it is about physical, cognitive, social, spiritual and emotional well-being, and highest level of functioning. Give basic tips how to empower and promote independence, and alter schedule to fit the resident lifestyle
2014-08-14 06:27:19 PM katcarpender so what do u suggest, Kathy>
2014-08-14 06:27:25 PM amanda33 yes
2014-08-14 06:27:39 PM terridenisetyler i tell mine if you will get them up i will take them to activities
2014-08-14 06:27:40 PM aferguson Illustrate what goals are accomplished in an activity such as BINGO, so they realize a game is not just fun and games
2014-08-14 06:27:40 PM tubbsretricia Kathy we can inservice them, show them Ftg248 activites and trivia
2014-08-14 06:28:04 PM terridenisetyler gift bags help
2014-08-14 06:28:10 PM noemi I always have CNA's walking by saying oh my god I didn't know that resident could do that or knew that answer. If they see how much a resident enjoys an activitly they may be more willing to help
2014-08-14 06:28:10 PM kathyhughes I suggest that you lower your expectations of CNA's.....and go one step at a time
2014-08-14 06:28:12 PM terridenisetyler candy
2014-08-14 06:28:16 PM katcarpender lol! good idea
2014-08-14 06:28:21 PM terridenisetyler lol
2014-08-14 06:28:26 PM terridenisetyler cookies
2014-08-14 06:28:27 PM kleson03 no not offened at all because going from the floor as a CNA to activity assistant i know how it is and i know that are aides dont help often,
2014-08-14 06:28:31 PM janice13 i recently made a activity bag for our cna's to use, i wrote out the instructions and placed all the items needed in a bag for them to use
2014-08-14 06:28:32 PM carolynlnig yes, one step at aa time.
2014-08-14 06:28:51 PM tubbsretricia I agree one step at a time
2014-08-14 06:28:54 PM kathyhughes My first goal is for them to actually tell the residents the activities for the day
2014-08-14 06:29:00 PM finman whats the hot topic
2014-08-14 06:29:02 PM terridenisetyler true
2014-08-14 06:29:03 PM katcarpender well i def think you are going to make a GREAT assistant!
2014-08-14 06:29:06 PM jeannette1978 yes
2014-08-14 06:29:06 PM kathyhughes So that starts out with the calendar
2014-08-14 06:29:11 PM amanda33 true
2014-08-14 06:29:11 PM tubbsretricia I agree
2014-08-14 06:29:15 PM katcarpender to understand both ends of the stick, if you will
2014-08-14 06:29:18 PM janice13 true if they know what is going on they may even want to join in
2014-08-14 06:29:22 PM noemi that's a good idea we have the calanders posted in their rooms
2014-08-14 06:29:25 PM kathyhughes and where to find it and what the activities are for each day of the week
2014-08-14 06:29:25 PM sonceegreen I made a cart with all the instructions and did an in service on it and ti wasn't touched for two weeks
2014-08-14 06:29:26 PM jackie3 what it a good way to communicate the residents prefernces we get from our rec interviews other than on the care plan
2014-08-14 06:29:34 PM kleson03 I often get caught on the floor doing CNA work because i come off the floor so its like doing 2 jobs at once.
2014-08-14 06:29:35 PM tubbsretricia I postt a calendar every month and daily reminders
2014-08-14 06:29:39 PM noemi they can just read the activities from there
2014-08-14 06:29:41 PM shottinger great ideas
2014-08-14 06:29:45 PM janice13 we have white boards on each unit as well as the calendars
2014-08-14 06:29:47 PM amanda33 or to have themvup and dtessedwhen it is residenys favorite activity
2014-08-14 06:29:52 PM kathyhughes they don't know that the calendar is in the rooms or that you even have a calendar
2014-08-14 06:30:03 PM terridenisetyler true
2014-08-14 06:30:05 PM kathyhughes its wallpaper
2014-08-14 06:30:06 PM noemi very true
2014-08-14 06:30:07 PM janice13 we post them at the nurses stations as well
2014-08-14 06:30:09 PM aferguson My facility would dislike that-my boss says its too institutional-she even changed my activity calendar to make each event more vague to allow for spontaneity. I tried to explain how important it is to be clear so residents can make clear choices, and helps staff prepare, but didn't result in much
2014-08-14 06:30:17 PM kathyhughes its there all the time and they have no clue
2014-08-14 06:30:28 PM katcarpender do yall do newsletters?
2014-08-14 06:30:31 PM kathyhughes right!
2014-08-14 06:30:37 PM jackie3 yes
2014-08-14 06:30:43 PM terridenisetyler i go down the hall reminding them and residents
2014-08-14 06:30:44 PM tubbsretricia postred on the nursing door
2014-08-14 06:30:44 PM janice13 monthly
2014-08-14 06:30:46 PM charmaine I had one resident who was half blind tell me that she would appreciate being told what activities are for the next day the night before!
2014-08-14 06:30:49 PM amanda33 true but when residents alert to say they want come and cnadont have them ready it makes mr po lol
2014-08-14 06:31:00 PM noemi most of them do know about our daily sheets we give out weekly maybe they could read them from there since they themselves like to read the back
2014-08-14 06:31:03 PM tubbsretricia I remind te resident on every events
2014-08-14 06:31:04 PM katcarpender what alll do you put in the newsletter, jackie?
2014-08-14 06:31:05 PM kathyhughes And they have to know why the calendar is there and that they can actually read it to the resident
2014-08-14 06:31:07 PM kleson03 we have stand up 2x day 10am and 4pm letting staff and residents know whats going on.
2014-08-14 06:31:09 PM shottinger i do posters
2014-08-14 06:31:12 PM aferguson I find reminder emails, and face to face visits with residents and CNA work well to promote activitiy involvement
2014-08-14 06:31:13 PM tubbsretricia I go and get them also
2014-08-14 06:31:22 PM janice13 we add our activity to the care plan if it is what that resident needs
2014-08-14 06:31:25 PM sonceegreen my asst announces each activity at least 20 minutes before each activity and asks for assistance bringing residents down and still no results
2014-08-14 06:31:25 PM debbie134 We do newsletters.
2014-08-14 06:31:27 PM jackie3 im looking for a way to have a print out of the residents preferences so all the cnas will know what that resident enjoys
2014-08-14 06:31:34 PM kathyhughes so the orientation inservice should be that there is a calendar of events and why
2014-08-14 06:31:42 PM janice13 then it becomes the cna's, nurses responibilitity as well
2014-08-14 06:31:44 PM tubbsretricia okay
2014-08-14 06:31:47 PM noemi me too jackie
2014-08-14 06:31:48 PM amanda33 yes
2014-08-14 06:31:49 PM aferguson ok
2014-08-14 06:32:11 PM kathyhughes I know of some facilities that make a visual poster of each resident and what they like to to
2014-08-14 06:32:19 PM janice13 show them what some of the activities look like
2014-08-14 06:32:22 PM pawood we have a book for each unit on every resdient with their preferences past present all interests including music, movies, games, food, family
2014-08-14 06:32:24 PM terridenisetyler interesting
2014-08-14 06:32:25 PM jackie3 thats neat
2014-08-14 06:32:34 PM amanda33 good idea
2014-08-14 06:32:34 PM carolynlnig is soncegreen, the only one who has announcements 20 minutes before activities takie place?
2014-08-14 06:32:36 PM kathyhughes kinda like an old school Pinterest Board for each resident
2014-08-14 06:32:37 PM tubbsretricia I like that
2014-08-14 06:32:38 PM janice13 like that ideas
2014-08-14 06:32:46 PM terridenisetyler nice
2014-08-14 06:32:49 PM charmaine Yes, because I am just a volunteer and I get asked a lot by the residents what activity for today?
2014-08-14 06:32:57 PM debbie134 We do announcements about 20 minutes before the activities too
2014-08-14 06:32:59 PM jackie3 cool!!! Im gonna use the pinterest idea and run with it
2014-08-14 06:33:04 PM katcarpender i liked that assignment from MEPAP 1 that we had to come up with ideas on the cart, kathy
2014-08-14 06:33:04 PM mariasweet I use old treatment cart for each unit with differnt thing in them cards, games, beads, puzzles, etc... I tell the CNA's when residents gets restless try giving them something to refocuse . It really does work. Before you know they are doing activities
2014-08-14 06:33:07 PM noemi good idea
2014-08-14 06:33:38 PM shottinger we arent alound to annouce tht stinks :(
2014-08-14 06:33:47 PM katcarpender and could take the cart around to an individual resident, small group or large group
2014-08-14 06:33:48 PM terridenisetyler is the activity cart locked?
2014-08-14 06:33:51 PM tubbsretricia I do reminders every 15 minutes before the activity
2014-08-14 06:33:54 PM janice13 what do you mean you can't anounce
2014-08-14 06:33:59 PM carolynlnig Does it work to have the announcements 20 minutes before? can you tell?
2014-08-14 06:34:01 PM sonceegreen my admn plays music over the speakers
2014-08-14 06:34:02 PM kathyhughes if there was a visual representation of what the resident enjoys and you have explained to the CNA what each activity is then there might be some people who will encourage residents to attend
2014-08-14 06:34:10 PM mariasweet yes and the nurse has the key
2014-08-14 06:34:17 PM jackie3 thanks Kathy
2014-08-14 06:34:24 PM terridenisetyler oh good idea!
2014-08-14 06:34:25 PM katcarpender yes... but CNAs know they are always welcome to ask for the key incase they are doing a one-on-one with a resident
2014-08-14 06:34:32 PM fkirchgater great idea
2014-08-14 06:34:32 PM janice13 we dont use a mic, i just go around and invite them to come
2014-08-14 06:34:35 PM tubbsretricia i like that idea
2014-08-14 06:34:46 PM debbie134 We have to be careful with our tone of voice during announcements. One of my staff was told by our DON that this was not The Price is Right!
2014-08-14 06:34:50 PM sonceegreen we also go room to room to invite
2014-08-14 06:35:06 PM kathyhughes You know if I looked at your calendars I might not go to the activities if I lived in your facility
2014-08-14 06:35:08 PM katcarpender for sure
2014-08-14 06:35:10 PM janice13 it could be the price is right
2014-08-14 06:35:11 PM tubbsretricia we do room to room invites
2014-08-14 06:35:12 PM shottinger its always something with our staf complaining
2014-08-14 06:35:13 PM jeannette1978 we go door to door
2014-08-14 06:35:15 PM amanda33 we do that slready
2014-08-14 06:35:20 PM terridenisetyler why
2014-08-14 06:35:29 PM mariasweet we go door to door to
2014-08-14 06:35:38 PM jackie3 ive been announcing before and after for all available staff to help escort our residents to/from the activity and where ....we do it as an internal page through the phone system
2014-08-14 06:35:40 PM tubbsretricia yes why
2014-08-14 06:35:45 PM terridenisetyler weekly calendars are good
2014-08-14 06:35:51 PM pawood do most of you have evening activities and if so how many nights a week
2014-08-14 06:35:52 PM jackie3 it seems to help sometimes but not everytine
2014-08-14 06:35:55 PM jeannette1978 we have and ED that wants us to not go invite them they should remember to come on their own
2014-08-14 06:35:56 PM kathyhughes because I wouldn't know from the creative names that you give your activities what the heck they are
2014-08-14 06:35:57 PM charmaine What about giving them personal invitations?
2014-08-14 06:36:03 PM katcarpender especially at a memory care facility- kinda have to go room to room
2014-08-14 06:36:05 PM terridenisetyler LOL
2014-08-14 06:36:06 PM debbie134 As soon as one of my girls yelled "Come on down" over the PA I knew there was going to be a phone call from the DON.
2014-08-14 06:36:08 PM tubbsretricia lol
2014-08-14 06:36:09 PM janice13 we have been doing two weeks at a time it seems to be working for everyone
2014-08-14 06:36:10 PM amanda33 we do weeky as well as a monthly
2014-08-14 06:36:11 PM sonceegreen that's true Kathy
2014-08-14 06:36:15 PM jeannette1978 but we are there to enrich their lives
2014-08-14 06:36:21 PM noemi we have evening activities tuesdays and thursdays from 6-7
2014-08-14 06:36:35 PM finman does anyone have special templates for calendars?
2014-08-14 06:36:37 PM terridenisetyler one night a week, tuesday
2014-08-14 06:36:43 PM aferguson Knowing resident preferences comes with knowing the resident. We also have a folder for each unit with resident preferences there, but often CNA's wind up memorizing a lot of it, or maybe using it or not depending on tasks and time allotments. A few scheudle cares around preferred activities for residents which is great!
2014-08-14 06:36:44 PM janice13 nope new one each time
2014-08-14 06:36:47 PM noemi it's very hard to find anyone to participate though
2014-08-14 06:36:50 PM amanda33 we have evenings 5 days a week

2014-08-14 06:37:30 PM charmaine Oh cool!
2014-08-14 06:37:34 PM jackie3 we have regular cnas with regular assignments but we need something for the floaters who may not work with that resident everyday
2014-08-14 06:37:35 PM kathyhughes I would seriously look at your calendars and give the programs normal names

2014-08-14 06:37:50 PM mariasweet Love activity connections
2014-08-14 06:37:59 PM kathyhughes and that is why we cover Marketing your activities
2014-08-14 06:38:10 PM debbie134 We have campfires on Friday nights during the summer. We have 1/3 of our residents come out for that. The fall/winter/spring night activities are not well attended.
2014-08-14 06:38:13 PM jackie3 ahhhhh!!!!
2014-08-14 06:38:28 PM terridenisetyler campfires nice
2014-08-14 06:38:30 PM aferguson I agree, calendars are useless unless easily understandable. I had Morning News, then Morning Stretch, and my boss changed it to "Morning Wake Up". I tried to explain to her why this is not helpful, but she felt strongly this was better, and less institutional
2014-08-14 06:38:35 PM charmaine Nice Debbie1
2014-08-14 06:38:39 PM wward We provide evening activities on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday from 6:30 until 8 on our Memory Care Unit only. We have found that keeping those residents busy until the CNAs can get them into bed is very helpful.
2014-08-14 06:38:40 PM tubbsretricia we cannot do campfires
2014-08-14 06:38:57 PM amanda33 we cant either

2014-08-14 06:39:25 PM tubbsretricia no evening activities .... our residents go to bed at 6:30
2014-08-14 06:39:33 PM pawood you dont get hit for not having evening activities for the rest of the residents who dont have demenia?
2014-08-14 06:39:34 PM jeannette1978 we use a propnae campfirwe
