We are giving beads away all day for participation and themed prizes at bingo. We have 160 beds 40 in semi secure unit 60 rehab and 60 ltc they take everybody even vents

2015-01-24 11:04:29 AM suzieb i cant wait until it gets nice out im thinking about doing pallete garden outside the windows of the dementia unit so they can watch it grow. I need more pets to visit but cant find a group to come in we have one collie. No the monkey would dance in front of the man and the residents could hold it if they wanted to. The dollar store had an origami circus set you could use for a display too. our dementia unit is having a art contest with the color wonder paper that crayola makes you would be so surprised what they draw even the non verbal residents

Going to try to contact local pet stores next. I have one full time 32 hours 2 part time at 26 hours each and one that works every sunday. Company mandats 7 days a week coverage 2 evenings a week

2015-01-24 11:12:58 AM suzieb im keeping track of our hours because i dont think its fair i should cut my staff when the social workers are not getting their work done in the alloted time it will take away from actual programming and they wont let me work less so i have to do the meetings and couldnt cover the activities. Im going to show her where we are and ask her where the other is. I told my staff when they finished their last activity do their attendance and paperwork and then go home early she wants me to cut 14 hours a week. thats the part i dont like so far but the previous one didnt really go over any of this and then i get called to the office to just fix it.

Ive been trying new things and im sure the ltc residents at council are going to be complaining they dont like change but say they like doing the activity at the time. Our biggest issue is nursing staffing right now

I have three things to type and post and then the homework. need to go back and pring articles for the exams because i read alot of them on line this time. Im going to read through them again before i take the test. last time i changed two answers or i wouldve had a 100 8-)

2015-01-24 11:18:24 AM suzieb theyre having a hard time staffing afternoons the existing staff is exhausted because they re working so much. They hire a group then maybe one out of 4 stay because they get 25 cents more an hour up the street or something.

2015-01-24 11:22:37 AM suzieb alot of the stuff weve been going over gives you different ideas too. I though about doing the own pace one next but i thinks its better to do it week for week. I thought i was getting the director position where i was before but the overlooked me twice so thats why i got the adpc. when they didnt pick me i decided to start interviewing. I happened alot faster than i anticipated. the staff is great we get along well we just need to have enough people to care for them the way they need to be. if they wont adapt then they gotta go you have to protect the residents first. they always will find another job
