2020-05-24 06:18:03 PM deannaalexa hi i know im last minute. this is the last assignment i have. i probably wont have a classmate conversation but the special event my department is planning is a resident cook out. the cook out is planned for 5/29/20. with the weather finally nice out. Residents have been asking for a BBQ because of memorial day cook out traditions. Are their any games that they could play. we sill have group activities with infection control. so the game supplies must be able to be sanitized between residents. we were thinking a water ballon toss. but instead toss into a bucket. I will keep this chat open so anyone else can share theirs too.

2020-06-17 12:50:12 PM erinm1 yeah, the lock down rules changed everything. a whole new set of complaints. I think if a state serveyor was in they would ask for information on resident council regardless of lockdown rules. I agree. It was very hard at first. Now it feels like a new normal. every day the activity aids visit everyone and offer walks and visits. I never thought i would miss bingo so much!
2020-06-17 12:52:28 PM patricia5 LOL RIGHT!!!! I am hopeful when surveyor do come in they understand we were in a war zone and doing the best we could. All we can do is try and keep the residents happy and busy and not just sitting in there rooms I focus on keeping them busy with in room leisure supplies

2020-06-17 12:55:37 PM erinm1 i think state will go easy on everyone. but i was also thinking that this could change the way they review activity departments. they usually leave us alone for the most part. now i think they will want to see everything we do. right now the other aids in my department use different themed carts every day and offer one on one games.
