2013-07-10 06:04:59 PM letroces4 whats up jamieblue!
2013-07-10 06:05:00 PM stevemelton Got it. I am volunteering, not actually working in a facility, so I need to listen and learn. Steve
2013-07-10 06:05:13 PM jamieblue How often do you write notes?
2013-07-10 06:05:19 PM juniorbull i saw alot of neat games on adn website store
2013-07-10 06:05:21 PM rvmann steve we could all use volunteers like you.
2013-07-10 06:05:22 PM brycegray I'll get to the websites in just a minute. Just want to see first if anyone has questions about the site.
2013-07-10 06:05:25 PM letroces4 u mean the progess notes?

2013-07-10 06:05:38 PM eklemetsen hey there Kami- where you in my first MEPAP class?
2013-07-10 06:05:58 PM letroces4 if something changes with the resident, like if all of a suddent they don't come to activities, or if they are now getting up and coming... also if its a new admit or readmit
2013-07-10 06:06:02 PM juniorbull thank you i really see such a need here that this is my passion
2013-07-10 06:06:16 PM jamieblue I write admission, quarterly annual readmission and sig change
2013-07-10 06:06:20 PM brycegray I promise you that I submit all the names of the people who participated in this chat. I will pass on your concern that your extra points have not shown up. Make sure to email Kathy the chats you have attended that have not shown up (just in case!)
2013-07-10 06:06:21 PM krkurth I am concerned because only some of my live chats have been given credt....would this count as a site question?
2013-07-10 06:06:22 PM letroces4 i only have the progress note to write it on, we don't have the incidental notes
2013-07-10 06:06:30 PM lynnet ARE there other MEPAP2 people here?
2013-07-10 06:06:40 PM krkurth oops sorry i posted that again
2013-07-10 06:06:47 PM rvmann I do all those plus quarterly reports and incidentals and change notes
2013-07-10 06:06:48 PM stevemelton My plan is to be an AD soon. Can't afford not to work too much longer. I did a career change and thought this is what I wanted to do: work with seniors. I am halfway thru MEPAP 1
2013-07-10 06:06:50 PM letroces4 brycegay ELIZABTH ROCES... hehe.. i need the extra points.. thankyou!!!!
2013-07-10 06:06:50 PM krkurth thanks just wanted to make sure!

2013-07-10 06:07:21 PM brycegray I have everyone's name here, I promise! :)
2013-07-10 06:07:25 PM jamieblue Me too rvmann.
2013-07-10 06:07:27 PM letroces4 rvmann, we don't have those although it would be nice so i don't have to cram it all up in this one note...
2013-07-10 06:07:42 PM letroces4 im in mepap1 050713
2013-07-10 06:07:52 PM krkurth me as well letroces4
2013-07-10 06:07:58 PM juniorbull very well explained and set up on website. seems easy enough
2013-07-10 06:08:04 PM rvmann I wasn't originally doing Quarterly notes but was told I needed to. I also chart daily
2013-07-10 06:08:05 PM jamieblue Does any do 14 days, 30, 60, 90
2013-07-10 06:08:05 PM letroces4 hello classmate krkurth!
2013-07-10 06:08:13 PM krkurth HI!
2013-07-10 06:08:16 PM panderson62 i do the quartely notes, new admissions, attendance, resident council
2013-07-10 06:08:24 PM stevemelton To Kurth: have you tried contacting the help deslk, filling the ticket out. That should be an easy fix for them I would think
2013-07-10 06:08:26 PM dleonard I too am in 050713
2013-07-10 06:08:34 PM brycegray I do 14, 30, 60, 90 day notes.
2013-07-10 06:08:37 PM krkurth i like the way the website is set up, very easy to find things in order to submit them
2013-07-10 06:08:39 PM letroces4 the only daily that we do is for the daily attendance and the room visits, for a few residents who has it
2013-07-10 06:08:40 PM rvmann My attendance notes include a page for incidentals on the back side.
2013-07-10 06:08:45 PM angel4aml18 jamie i used to do notes fo 14, 30, 60 but my MDS coordinator said since I didn't have to enter MDS info I didn't have to write a note
2013-07-10 06:08:55 PM juniorbull im in 070213 mepap 1
2013-07-10 06:08:58 PM jamieblue I do that to panderson62.
2013-07-10 06:09:01 PM letroces4 ours is just a front page... nothing on the back
2013-07-10 06:09:02 PM rvmann I do daily visits for every resident in my facility.
2013-07-10 06:09:08 PM krkurth dleonard, (sidenote) we must plan another skype...
2013-07-10 06:09:09 PM brycegray If I have a resident that has a change (but not an MDS significant change), I always chart the change and update their careplan.
2013-07-10 06:09:15 PM lynnet how many residents rvmann
2013-07-10 06:09:30 PM rvmann So put a place to take notes on the back. Only 25 right now but even with twice that I do
2013-07-10 06:09:32 PM jamieblue I don't do care plans yet not on PCC
2013-07-10 06:09:33 PM panderson62 rvmann how do you do that?
2013-07-10 06:09:35 PM letroces4 that is what i need to do too bryce gay...
2013-07-10 06:09:44 PM stevemelton To revmann: how do you make time for every resident. But good for you and them.
2013-07-10 06:09:45 PM 091190 I have a question about the practicum assignments, how are we suposed to post those and is there an order in which they should be done that is more beneficial
2013-07-10 06:09:46 PM letroces4 so look at me now trying to check all the resident's charts...
2013-07-10 06:09:46 PM juniorbull bryce r u in a snf facility
2013-07-10 06:10:00 PM brycegray Your careplan must always reflect your clinical notes. If there is a change relflected in your notes, your careplan must change too.
2013-07-10 06:10:04 PM jess8299 enter the chat room
2013-07-10 06:10:05 PM letroces4 im trying to get my practicum assignments in also...
2013-07-10 06:10:38 PM rvmann Just stopping in and talking to residents works, I talk to them about what is going on for the day and if they need anything new and what changes they want to tell me about. It works really well becasuse I know by my daily visits who needs more attention.
2013-07-10 06:10:43 PM krkurth where will we find our grade for our faxed in midterm practicum?
2013-07-10 06:10:50 PM jess8299 hello ALL
2013-07-10 06:10:54 PM letroces4 hi jess

2013-07-10 06:11:03 PM jamieblue hello jess8299
2013-07-10 06:11:06 PM lynnet hi
2013-07-10 06:11:12 PM panderson62 hi jess
2013-07-10 06:11:16 PM letroces4 how many residents do you have rvmann?
2013-07-10 06:11:19 PM rvmann my care plans change every quarter and every significant change but can be updated daily if thats what residents need.
2013-07-10 06:11:35 PM 091190 krkurth I dont think they have been graded yet. kathy said she does them around thursday.
2013-07-10 06:11:40 PM rvmann Lerroces4 I have 25 at the moment
2013-07-10 06:11:46 PM stevemelton rvmann: do you do this on your own or is it mandated?
2013-07-10 06:12:00 PM brycegray Post under the "Practicum Assignment Forum". Kathy should have the forum assignment as a discussion thread. Click on it and post your assignment. What class are you in 091190?
2013-07-10 06:12:02 PM lynnet that's still a lot of residents and you say you visit each of them every day - wow
2013-07-10 06:12:18 PM krkurth do you know where the grade will be posted? in the beginning of our assignment list?
2013-07-10 06:12:24 PM 091190 070213
2013-07-10 06:12:24 PM lynnet go to
2013-07-10 06:12:28 PM lynnet grades
2013-07-10 06:12:39 PM panderson62 25 is do-able
2013-07-10 06:12:49 PM sueharrington enter the chat room
2013-07-10 06:12:51 PM lynnet left side of website - go to 'grades'
2013-07-10 06:12:56 PM rvmann On my own only care plans at quarterly and significant changes are mandated. I don't see how I could meet my residents needs if I didn't talk to them daily.
2013-07-10 06:13:09 PM krkurth oh i never noticed that before, thanks!
2013-07-10 06:13:13 PM brycegray I am in a non profit CCRC. I work with the LTC residents, AL, short-term, and hospice. 150 residents.
2013-07-10 06:13:15 PM juniorbull it shows on aCTIVITY REPORT ON WEBSITE
2013-07-10 06:13:22 PM sueharrington hello
2013-07-10 06:13:27 PM rvmann Our facility maxes out at 56 and we are skilled.
2013-07-10 06:13:38 PM jamieblue Helllo sueharrington
2013-07-10 06:13:42 PM lynnet hello sue
2013-07-10 06:13:47 PM panderson62 hi sue
2013-07-10 06:13:50 PM stevemelton rvmann: from what I have seen I don't think it happens, seeing residents daily. makes sense though.
2013-07-10 06:13:53 PM jess8299 hi sue
2013-07-10 06:14:03 PM letroces4 i do the care plans update if there is something significant and needs to be added, and i also do progress notes if readmits, new admission and other significant changes otherwise i can't do all of em
2013-07-10 06:14:04 PM brycegray In Ohio, I had a fellow ADC cited because her careplan did not reflect the change marked in her notes. A note made outside of her quarterly & annual notes.
2013-07-10 06:14:05 PM lynnet you're right steve
2013-07-10 06:14:06 PM dleonard I so wish I could visit each resident daily. I have 113 residents so I am licky if I can see each one weekly.
2013-07-10 06:14:19 PM sandy55 left the chat room
2013-07-10 06:14:29 PM lynnet same here
2013-07-10 06:14:30 PM rvmann at 150 I'd have enough staff to delegate sections so my activities staff knows who they were responsible for talking to daily.
2013-07-10 06:14:31 PM jamieblue rvmann are your daily visits enough for 1:1
2013-07-10 06:14:48 PM sandy55 enter the chat room
2013-07-10 06:14:54 PM dleonard It is only me. I have no other staff.
2013-07-10 06:14:58 PM eklemetsen does anyone know the lowest passing score of midterm and final?
2013-07-10 06:14:58 PM lynnet do you run other activities as well rvmann
2013-07-10 06:14:59 PM rvmann yes because i add more if I need to meet the requests of the residents.
2013-07-10 06:15:01 PM panderson62 i do check on my residents daily at least half if not more
2013-07-10 06:15:05 PM kamiwife47 How do you do daily visits if you have 250 residents?
2013-07-10 06:15:21 PM stevemelton dleonard, 113, that's a lot obviously. seems like the number of residents varies from place to place quite a bit.
2013-07-10 06:15:22 PM krkurth i do not have any other staff either, do you think you will ever be able to have a staff or assistant aide dleonard?
2013-07-10 06:15:29 PM lynnet i think he said 25
