2017-10-24 06:54:18 PM kimpickett Getting good volunteers takes some work.
2017-10-24 06:54:24 PM tiffanylhenderson carrieac17 i am a huge advocate for childcare in nursing homes and healthcare facilities. Babies and puppies do a whole of good for a persons quality of life
2017-10-24 06:54:31 PM kat86 volunteers can be a lot of work until you get good ones!
2017-10-24 06:54:32 PM ebroughton I have not had much luck with volunteers
2017-10-24 06:54:33 PM kimpickett Wow! ebroughton

2017-10-24 06:54:39 PM melissaz Try giving the volunteers something withonly one or two steps. We tend to have one or two volunteers scheduled at a time to make it easier.
2017-10-24 06:54:44 PM carrieac17 I agree tiffanyhenderson
2017-10-24 06:54:44 PM cassie10 me either volunteers are a struggle
2017-10-24 06:54:49 PM jenniferhess2 hospice usually helps as far as being a volunteer
2017-10-24 06:55:00 PM melissaz Once they get used to doing certain games or one on ones then it's easier to get them to branch out.
2017-10-24 06:55:03 PM sdube ebroughton where is your facilty?
2017-10-24 06:55:04 PM thad39 I have alot but it equals work and time

2017-10-24 06:55:25 PM jcorona93 we have 3 volunteers that come into the facility to help out. They are a huge help to the facility and the residents love them too!

2017-10-24 06:55:38 PM sdube (y)
2017-10-24 06:55:45 PM jenniferhess2 they do alot for us
2017-10-24 06:55:50 PM kimpickett For the high school kids, I really stress that they have to commit and call in if they won't be there.
2017-10-24 06:56:13 PM kristind Thank you. I try to get in good ones, but they just need a lot of supervision usually. I will keep my head up! And keep hoping and trying
2017-10-24 06:56:15 PM sjorgensen My "part time" activity assistance don't seem to have the enthusium to be DOING activities. They don't think it's a "real" job! One of my "part-timers" just walked out yesterday!!!

2017-10-24 06:56:31 PM melissaz I think its a little easier for the activities staff to have the volunteers come in when the staff members are there. It is a little limiting, but it does give the volunteers support and reinforcement of the rules.
