2020-06-16 06:16:15 PM tambur im forgetting how to interact in public. people distance and dont make eye contact
2020-06-16 06:16:16 PM mloesch There is a good form on the website to use
2020-06-16 06:16:36 PM sbarzak HAVE YOU NOTICED A DIFFERENCE IN THE RESIDENT COUNCIL CONCERNS IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS?
2020-06-16 06:16:38 PM mloesch I do the time I fill out my form to the time I am finished reviewing everything with our council president
2020-06-16 06:16:39 PM paulapoole we passed them out and helped those who needed help and them met with the pres and vp and that was resident counsel.
2020-06-16 06:16:45 PM rsmale like what
2020-06-16 06:17:01 PM flossie I haven't really... They seem to be more understanding than normal...
2020-06-16 06:17:03 PM michaeld Not really at my facility
2020-06-16 06:17:07 PM mloesch Honestly no difference other then them missing their families and activiites.
2020-06-16 06:17:14 PM rsmale my president feels worthlass with these papers
2020-06-16 06:17:31 PM rsmale less
2020-06-16 06:17:37 PM flossie Agree rsmale... My president says it doesnt do any good and wants to resign
2020-06-16 06:17:40 PM turnerjennifer Good night everyone! I need to go finish up my practicum paper so I can get those turned in. I'm hoping to take my midterm this week!!!!
2020-06-16 06:17:41 PM sbarzak I AM IN AWE TOO WITH MY PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE HAD LESS COMPLAINTS SINCE FAMILIES ARENT IN THERE
2020-06-16 06:17:56 PM cmckinny we just talked, and wrote up, wasnt hard , we usuallly have one or ttwo concerns, ,
2020-06-16 06:18:10 PM michaeld Well isn't that funny
2020-06-16 06:18:12 PM turnerjennifer left the chat room
2020-06-16 06:18:30 PM flossie The families are terrible. My admin wanted to do lunch with families this week. Yesterday was a disaster. I had to cancel the rest
2020-06-16 06:18:36 PM clarissam left the chat room
2020-06-16 06:18:46 PM bduncan we usually have no concerns at the meeting but so many any other day
2020-06-16 06:18:48 PM flossie 2/5 residents family members were complaining and/or crying
2020-06-16 06:18:49 PM rsmale we are not allowed
2020-06-16 06:18:53 PM derekb9907 Hii everyone
2020-06-16 06:18:56 PM cmckinny Residents that had concerns i called the families, they are pretty understanding, and know that their loved ones are board and wanta get out.
2020-06-16 06:18:57 PM tambur so sorry Flossie.
2020-06-16 06:19:03 PM lyndsayt flossie, crying about what?
2020-06-16 06:19:05 PM flossie We are not allowed either. We had stations set up
2020-06-16 06:19:12 PM rsmale our families have been supper supportive
2020-06-16 06:19:19 PM paulapoole Some of our residents have become more compassionate seeing how tired the limited staff get and seeing all the loss we've endured, they've somehow become more appreciative of the smaller things. Some just are depresssed looking at the same ol' walls for ever. Although, many of them have done the room changing boogie a lot.
2020-06-16 06:19:23 PM rsmale want mom or dad to be safe
2020-06-16 06:19:24 PM flossie I didn't deal with that family member in particular but she was frustrated because she wanted to come in
2020-06-16 06:19:53 PM rsmale super
2020-06-16 06:20:17 PM flossie the other one was literally complaining about everything... including the fact that the facility grass had just been mown... lol
2020-06-16 06:20:24 PM sbarzak ITS FUNNY BECAUSE WHEN THEY SIGN UP FOR A WINDOW VISIT, THEY OFTEN TELL THE RECEPTIONIST I AM LETTING THEM COME IN TO SEE THEIR LOVED ONE. SO I HAVE TO GO OUT AND EXPLAIN AGAIN WHAT A WINDOW VISIT IS
2020-06-16 06:20:25 PM rsmale i feel more complaints not less
2020-06-16 06:20:42 PM michaeld lol
2020-06-16 06:20:48 PM flossie Yes! It's like they should know the rules by now lol
2020-06-16 06:20:57 PM rsmale no kidding
2020-06-16 06:21:00 PM michaeld poor family
2020-06-16 06:21:02 PM careyjeff To me a council should meet as agroup so they can hear each other.
2020-06-16 06:21:12 PM flossie Families are starting to get fed up... I get it but it's not our fault...
2020-06-16 06:21:17 PM cmckinny do face time or zoom with the family, or window time under the patio and give the resident a phone so they can hear better, not kidding today i had 8 and its hard sometimes but familues are very apperivicate
2020-06-16 06:21:39 PM rsmale agreed jeff but our president dont let people speak and tries to get them to complain
2020-06-16 06:21:46 PM careyjeff I dont see the point in just putting everyones concerns down on a list . That what the greivance process is for.
2020-06-16 06:22:09 PM rsmale but they all look up to her
2020-06-16 06:22:10 PM bduncan we dont oversee the window visits anymore we let the nurses take over that
2020-06-16 06:22:11 PM mloesch This is random but what does "CCA" stand for?
2020-06-16 06:22:37 PM flossie Our residents/families always try to open the windows.
2020-06-16 06:22:40 PM lstokes I can imagine how many familes are feeling not being able to see their love ones
2020-06-16 06:22:51 PM sbarzak ITS PART OF THE MDS -CAA
2020-06-16 06:22:55 PM bduncan we also do drive by visits the residens love that
2020-06-16 06:23:08 PM flossie Care area assessments right?
2020-06-16 06:23:13 PM sbarzak BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT IT STANDS FOR, I JUST KNOW HOW TO ANSWER THEM LOL
2020-06-16 06:23:26 PM cmckinny yap we had that problem to opeing windows , but now we do them up front.
2020-06-16 06:23:27 PM tambur left the chat room
2020-06-16 06:23:38 PM paulapoole We tried outside visits with social distancing, the families would NOT abide by the rules came crashing through the patio gates, hugging, stroking, kissing... masks off, walking residents around.... Great Stinkin' Day in the Morning.... Well that was the end of that after about 3 days. So they've ruined it for everyone.
2020-06-16 06:23:38 PM mloesch So like the "F" part of MDS?
2020-06-16 06:23:44 PM rsmale i would hate not being to come in an see my parents but at the sametime i haven't seen my dad cause he has lung cancer a few yrs ago and i dont want to make him sick
2020-06-16 06:23:49 PM bduncan no the f is somethign esle
2020-06-16 06:24:11 PM rsmale ys
2020-06-16 06:24:13 PM michaeld CAA MEANS CARE AREA ASSESSMENT
2020-06-16 06:24:32 PM bduncan the caa is somethign that is triggered by other things its weird. i dont really understand it much but they arent that hard
2020-06-16 06:24:40 PM sbarzak I FOUND THE MOST COMPLAINTS COME FROM THE PEOPLE WHO ARENT USING THE WINDOW VISITS, ZOOM CALLS OR FACETIME
2020-06-16 06:24:55 PM mloesch Would CCA just be that activity interview you do?
2020-06-16 06:25:00 PM mloesch sorry CAA
2020-06-16 06:25:01 PM flossie Yes! The ones who do facetime, seem to be very appreciative
2020-06-16 06:25:13 PM paulapoole The only exception to visitor within the facility are hospice, and that's limited to 2
2020-06-16 06:25:20 PM careyjeff We get complaints after zoom calls. Dirty fingers. meesy hair. wrong food etc.
2020-06-16 06:25:31 PM michaeld Same here. The one that dont do them are the issuse
2020-06-16 06:25:45 PM flossie Familes try to sneak in questions... I just tell them thats a nursing question ... lol
2020-06-16 06:26:06 PM careyjeff YUUUUP ME TOO I STAY IN MY LANE

2020-06-16 06:26:26 PM sbarzak I LIVE IN PA AND HAD A FAMILY MEMBER DRIVE FROM MONTANA TO SEE HIS DAD ONLY TO FIND OUT HE COULD DO WINDOW VISITS. HE WAS OK WITH IT . THE VISIT LASTED AN HOUR AND HE CAME BACK IN THE AFTERNOON FOR ANOTHER HOUR

2020-06-16 06:26:52 PM cmckinny Something we do at our facility is each department head has a set of room and you check on these rooms every moring before morning and write concerns down or any maintance issues, you also must call their POA and talk to them, helps alot
