2013-03-05 07:22:39 PM lynniemarie yep, lots in my nursing home!
2013-03-05 07:22:40 PM khurley2013 our residents are going to hide the eggs then watch the little kids find them
2013-03-05 07:22:43 PM kathyhughes They have diffent names, but a plan of care is required in the nursing home...some places call them service plans
2013-03-05 07:22:51 PM babieofseven I must agree about the ton of paperwork that was the only down side of the job
2013-03-05 07:23:01 PM richardsonl In my experience the regulations for nursing homes, assisted living and adult day programs are differeent and job descriptions vary slightly. When I worked in adult day program and nursing facilities, I had to write care plans and assessments. I did not have the MDS in an Adult day program. I did not have assessments, or care plans in assisted livign
2013-03-05 07:23:05 PM kathyhughes and some medical day cares require care plans
2013-03-05 07:23:07 PM lynniemarie It gets easier with time I think
2013-03-05 07:23:09 PM msnicolef Can I ask how much the salary is at a nursing home for an activities director?
2013-03-05 07:23:12 PM estrawser is the care plan the same for a swing bed program?
2013-03-05 07:23:27 PM lynniemarie 20.00 an hour
2013-03-05 07:23:31 PM kathyhughes I believe so Evelyn
2013-03-05 07:23:32 PM dtkimble I just started care plans. I made them so much more difficult than they needed to be
2013-03-05 07:23:38 PM lizmacinnes thats what I make
2013-03-05 07:23:39 PM estrawser thanks
2013-03-05 07:23:41 PM jamiecraig im not sure but i make 12 as an assistant
2013-03-05 07:23:42 PM 0678 yes and sig changes and annual and initials
2013-03-05 07:23:43 PM kathyhughes and thats a good question Nicole
2013-03-05 07:23:53 PM cyndeec Salaries down in FL are low
2013-03-05 07:23:55 PM angi55 ok thank yall so much. I am interested in assisted livings. They are really interesting to me. Is the pay scale different for different types of facilities
2013-03-05 07:24:01 PM kathyhughes depends on where you are and the size of the facility
2013-03-05 07:24:05 PM msnicolef Very well. The paperwork may seem maticulous, but at least you're getting paid legitimately.
2013-03-05 07:24:16 PM cyndeec It depends where you live too
2013-03-05 07:24:16 PM indkids What do surveyors look for in care plans?
2013-03-05 07:24:21 PM lynniemarie How much do you get/
2013-03-05 07:24:24 PM dtkimble Kathy, do you see it necessary for a Director to also be a CNA?
2013-03-05 07:24:33 PM richardsonl I make about 34,000 a year, but I have never made that much.
2013-03-05 07:24:40 PM richardsonl prior I mean
2013-03-05 07:24:44 PM lynniemarie Hourly?
2013-03-05 07:24:45 PM kathyhughes They look at the care plans to see if you are meeting your goals
2013-03-05 07:24:47 PM jamiecraig were a chain and were required to be stna's
2013-03-05 07:25:00 PM kathyhughes and Dawn I thnk not but thats a personal opinion
2013-03-05 07:25:20 PM estrawser use the same a nursing process to review the care plan, evaluate and reimplement?
2013-03-05 07:25:25 PM dtkimble thank you Kathy. I am a HHA but it doesn't allow me to do much in the SNF
2013-03-05 07:25:26 PM angi55 i used to be a cna, but my license expired and i do not plan to renew it
2013-03-05 07:25:26 PM kathyhughes and to see if the care plan goals are meeting the needs and interests of the residents
2013-03-05 07:25:28 PM msnicolef I'm the activities director for both an assisted living and memory care (2 separate building) and I am salary at 11/hr. I am extremely over work and underpaid.

2013-03-05 07:25:52 PM lynniemarie my assistant gets 10.00 an hour
2013-03-05 07:25:56 PM dtkimble yes, it does depend on where you live
2013-03-05 07:25:56 PM cyndeec A lot of smaller facilities want you to be a CNA to do both jobs
2013-03-05 07:25:57 PM indkids 75 plus 12 AL
2013-03-05 07:25:57 PM coachlcs73 Our core staff still has to do annual competencies in care
2013-03-05 07:26:01 PM 0678 yes but paper work at the end of the day if you have a resident that needs attention and you are charting of course you will pay attenton to the resident but the the mds person is sending you an e-mail for "billing" the next minute
2013-03-05 07:26:02 PM lizmacinnes I have 22 resdients with alzheimer's
2013-03-05 07:26:03 PM lynniemarie 74

2013-03-05 07:26:16 PM bhanson We have about 80 residents in our healthcare wing
2013-03-05 07:26:16 PM richardsonl That's about what I made msnicolef when I ran and adult vocational program and senior center at the same time. It was frustrating
2013-03-05 07:26:31 PM babieofseven I had 125 and as an assistant I made $12.50 an hour in texas
2013-03-05 07:26:34 PM jamiecraig wow thats why im gona wait out our current director im not worried about having a title without the right pay
2013-03-05 07:26:36 PM lynniemarie How much do art therapists get?
2013-03-05 07:26:42 PM lizmacinnes and I'm the only one in the room with the majority of the residents 8 hours a day 5 days a week! I love it but I come home exhausted.

2013-03-05 07:27:01 PM mbmalone3 we have 112
2013-03-05 07:27:02 PM estrawser I am looking at our records to see if we have a care plan for each person. There is an intital evaluation and generic care plan. I would like to see so specfic to each resident need and likes. That should be better for the resident?
2013-03-05 07:27:08 PM angi55 this brings me to another point. is it common to cut an ad daily hours when the census goes down
2013-03-05 07:27:10 PM jamiecraig we have 200

2013-03-05 07:28:07 PM lynniemarie There is no way that I could handle the physical requirements for lifting like CNAs do.
2013-03-05 07:28:10 PM angi55 i wanted to ask if i could be an assistant, but the ad hours just got cut so i guess the timing is bad
2013-03-05 07:28:12 PM kathyhughes thats what its all about!
2013-03-05 07:28:13 PM indkids imop..if you're a cna you'll have to do stuff the aides should be doing.
