People thing activities is easy until they do it and then they are surprised at the hard work involved. I think that is why she transferred into our department in the first place. She thought that it was going to be easy.

2016-06-16 06:22:24 PM akline we have a resident, who wants to feel as though shes helping so she typically takes this one resident whos in a wheelchair, and tries to take her back to her room or wherever the other resident wants to go. Problem is they both have some dementia and forget where they are to go. We've told this resident to not take her anymore but she still does when we leave the room to take another resident back, who's a fall risk. We dont know how to stop her

So we take her back first, we come back into the room and the one resident has taken the other, they never get too far. But we dont want to hurt this lady's feelings but need her to stop taking the other resident.
