2017-05-28 07:14:58 AM amjones Good morning prymyc. If your community uses any home health or hospice companies ask them to donate to your events. I have an event everymonth. It's usually a family night but with all the Holidays lately I haven't had Family Night. I ask all the home health companies to donate sodas juice water cupcakes chips. Depending on what I am having. Partner with your nurse or Business Office Manager whoever deals directly with those companies. Believe me it helps and you don't spend a lot of your budget on one even . I have a separate budget for entertainers. I try to have at least three enetertainers a month. I also use a lot of non profit enetertainers.

As for donations, my social workers are the ones who deal closely with our hospice and home health companies and I usually get them to put the word out when I need bingo donations.We have bingo 3 times a week and we do bingo prizes. But because I have a very small budget, if I buy the prizes it eats up my budget. So those donations help alot. Then I can save my budget for our parties. We have a party for holidays and usually try and do another party of some sorts.
2017-05-28 11:39:37 AM prymyc Even doing party bingo having snacks and drinks, they enjoy that. I also have alot of family members who donate to our bingo and to our parties. And I have a couple of different groups who come and perform for free. I have also started a party planning committee with my residents. When we are going to be having a party, they are the ones who help me plan what snacks we will have, what we will do for the party. Its pretty great to have them imvolved in the planning of their own parties!

2017-05-28 04:00:02 PM amjones The good thing about the company I work for they give me three different budgets 1 for enetertainment 1 for events and 1 for odds and ends. I just hate that my event budget I have to spend it thru the comapny that our food service orders from. So I stll end up spending out of my pcard to buy other foods that I feel are to expensive to purchase from a company. I try to use my budget as wisely as I can. It's hard sometimes.
