2017-05-30 06:28:35 PM susankent true the patients are our main concern but it does make it nicer when you know all your care team, no matter what area is there to help as well. I love my patients and they are the only reason why I keep coming back to work. they bring me sunshine and love. we always talk about new ideas during our exercise class in case there is something else they would like to add to our program. I love to make them smile. some times they tell me I'm a goofball but that's okay because I made them smile.

I tell my staff not to think of me as the "boss." Every team needs a leader. I find that we work better when I don't put up those "walls"

2017-05-30 06:34:23 PM nestorb April, we're lucky to have an art therapist. She does the Legacy Program" with most bed bound residents. My staff and art therapist work on ongoing projects having to do with the resident leaving their legacy for family. Could be an abulm with pictures, art, letters, notes, poisitve affirmations, stories of good memories, whatever the resident wants.

2017-05-30 06:38:15 PM bholden we do what we call drop ins everyday, where we see each resident for at least a couple of min to let them know personally whats on the plan for the day and whats being cooked up in the kitchen and we make sure its a documented visit. that was able to really cut back on our careplanned one to one visits, not all but a good number cut back
