2016-02-29 09:38:41 PM kgates Hi everyone, how are things going? Is anyone else running on empty? I'm looking at assesments, but have to wait to get to work to look over the assesment that we are doing to see if it's meeting the care plan needs of our residents. I wondered if anyone can email me a blank copy of the assesments you do. Just out of curiousity, I would like to compare what differences there are. I think we should change some of questions to better facilitate our residents. What about you?

Which is more detailed about the residents past interest and present interest. Which help us figure our care plans more precisely we only use it one time its the initial assesment that we do when they first move in.

Most of the time they are going to therapy or tired out from therapy but just need a little something to do in their rooms, they normally have more visitors and family inbetween as well.

2016-03-01 06:49:05 PM kgates I do all the assesments for our Long Term Care residents. Most generally like the video they enjoy talking about theirselves and reminiscing about their lives. So it seems to go pretty well for most. I noticed on the video they said it took aproxiamately 17 minutes to do an anscessment,. But I think by the time you put it all in, make a care plan from the assesments it takes a lot longer than that. More like 45 minutes.

Take for example, the V sectionof the MDS, when I get my part done, I have no V section. But when the other depts. get theirs completed, bang there is something I had not anticipated.

2016-03-01 07:02:35 PM kgates We have so many volunteers that we had to get a volunteer coordinator to coordinate them all. I think its because we live in a small community and we love to talk about interests and somehow they say ok I can try that. Then we get them hooked.
