2019-01-30 07:41:56 PM tinabaisley good i am
2019-01-30 07:41:58 PM rmcrow ME ME ME ME !!!!!
2019-01-30 07:41:59 PM salinass i will be there
2019-01-30 07:42:05 PM angelagalloway That would be great!
2019-01-30 07:42:13 PM cchase we can discuss at the chat next week
2019-01-30 07:42:19 PM tinabaisley ok
2019-01-30 07:42:33 PM marshallp (v)
2019-01-30 07:42:48 PM cchase any one interested in adult day health as an activity director??
2019-01-30 07:42:52 PM salinass maybe we can all share an activity for memeory care
2019-01-30 07:43:17 PM salinass i have been interested
2019-01-30 07:44:11 PM cchase so imagine getting all that paperwork done during the day with no quieet night hours to catch up
2019-01-30 07:44:23 PM salinass as i stated before, we have space in our building that would make a great adult day center
2019-01-30 07:44:36 PM salinass its that busy?
2019-01-30 07:44:43 PM cchase perhaps you might suggest it
2019-01-30 07:44:56 PM salinass i have
2019-01-30 07:45:34 PM tinabaisley would you have to hire more staff to have one salinass?
2019-01-30 07:45:40 PM salinass i think it would be a great way to help our resdients that our in IL, AL that have dementia/alzheimers, but they are not ready for the locked unit yet.
2019-01-30 07:45:44 PM cchase there is a good measure of regulations to adhere to in getting one up and running
2019-01-30 07:46:01 PM marshallp left the chat room
2019-01-30 07:46:17 PM salinass I think it would be a great way to transition them over instead of just puttting them there when they begin to wonder or elope more
2019-01-30 07:46:22 PM marshallp enter the chat room
2019-01-30 07:46:23 PM klinetiffany oh my I bet there is
2019-01-30 07:46:27 PM salinass does that make sense
2019-01-30 07:46:31 PM cchase I was involved when it opened and let me tell you that we had so much to get it going
2019-01-30 07:46:32 PM klinetiffany Yeah I agree salinass
2019-01-30 07:46:45 PM marshallp mY MSG STOPED TYPING AGAIN
2019-01-30 07:46:49 PM salinass i know, but i man we need it
2019-01-30 07:47:06 PM rmcrow it does seem like alot - kinda overwhelming
2019-01-30 07:47:14 PM cchase yes - seniors do well living at home - we call it "age in place' when they live with the family
2019-01-30 07:47:17 PM salinass it is also a great marketing tool and a great way to bring in the community
2019-01-30 07:47:18 PM klinetiffany We are getting ready to open memorycare houses in June, I seen the list for that, I was exhausted just looking at it lol
2019-01-30 07:47:33 PM cchase emotionally and physically overall they are happier and healthier
2019-01-30 07:47:36 PM klinetiffany "age in place" I like it
2019-01-30 07:47:37 PM marshallp Age in place?
2019-01-30 07:47:55 PM salinass klinetiffany, what are memorycare houses?
2019-01-30 07:47:59 PM klinetiffany Yes that would make sense
2019-01-30 07:48:02 PM salinass i like that too
2019-01-30 07:48:09 PM tinabaisley we only have IL, AL and a small Nursing home that has every level of care including rehab
2019-01-30 07:48:14 PM klinetiffany They are two houses eeach one only has 12 beds
2019-01-30 07:48:16 PM tinabaisley but no adult home
2019-01-30 07:48:16 PM angelagalloway I like that terminology
2019-01-30 07:48:22 PM cchase yes - 'age in Place' refers to elders aging while living at home
2019-01-30 07:48:41 PM salinass oh okay that is cool
2019-01-30 07:48:46 PM marshallp But how is care delivered?
2019-01-30 07:48:54 PM rmcrow (L)
2019-01-30 07:49:04 PM klinetiffany they are for those residents that specifically need memory care or that have dementia
2019-01-30 07:49:10 PM marshallp How are activities done?
2019-01-30 07:49:27 PM klinetiffany They provide more of a home experience, more personal, like a home enviroment
2019-01-30 07:49:30 PM cchase as previously mentioned - staff consists of nursing, cna's and activity assistants and directors.
2019-01-30 07:49:47 PM marshallp hmm, ok
2019-01-30 07:50:18 PM marshallp At their home?
2019-01-30 07:50:19 PM cchase assistant and directors plan and deliver activities - in fact all staff members are actively involved in activities as is the required regulations
2019-01-30 07:50:22 PM salinass is it kind of like the green houses that i read about in the first course?
2019-01-30 07:50:31 PM cchase not at home - at the day center
2019-01-30 07:50:35 PM cchase when they attend
2019-01-30 07:50:47 PM marshallp ok
2019-01-30 07:50:50 PM klinetiffany Yes, cchase, they are implementing that in our Neighborhood
2019-01-30 07:50:51 PM klinetiffany s
2019-01-30 07:50:52 PM cchase yes - good point which needs to be mentioned
2019-01-30 07:51:05 PM klinetiffany They are calling it universal workers
2019-01-30 07:51:18 PM cchase the new regs do not want day centers to look institutionalized in appearance
2019-01-30 07:51:23 PM salinass i have heard about thatt
2019-01-30 07:51:23 PM marshallp I'm still confused!
2019-01-30 07:51:26 PM cchase they want them more home like
2019-01-30 07:51:36 PM cchase just like the green house you havve read about
2019-01-30 07:51:38 PM salinass what is confusing you?
2019-01-30 07:51:50 PM cchase why are you confused??
2019-01-30 07:51:55 PM salinass yes celeste
2019-01-30 07:52:01 PM marshallp Like greenhouses bt at their Hm?
2019-01-30 07:52:06 PM salinass it is more "home"like
2019-01-30 07:52:26 PM cchase they are getting the "care" at the centers that need to be more home like in appearance
2019-01-30 07:52:40 PM marshallp Oh, OK
2019-01-30 07:52:47 PM marshallp Got it!
2019-01-30 07:52:51 PM salinass yes

2019-01-30 07:53:49 PM angelagalloway I wish my residents families were involved now.
2019-01-30 07:54:00 PM marshallp Me too Angela
2019-01-30 07:54:06 PM cchase can be crazy - but just a littel:D
2019-01-30 07:54:25 PM cchase any questions about adult day health
2019-01-30 07:54:30 PM salinass we have a lot of our families invovled, but a lot that are not

2019-01-30 07:57:00 PM angelagalloway It isn't necessarily overthinking - it is simply finding the time to get everything completed. Between working a demanding FT job, 2 babies, a house, school and trying to recover from surgery...

2019-02-06 07:09:44 PM acorman Memories in the making is an art program through the Alx. association. We meet weekly and we have an artist volunteer join us. at the end of the year we submit all of the art work and some of it goes into an auction to raise lots of money. I like it beacuse residents who thisn they can not paint create amazing oeices. and ones in the early stage know that they are doing this art for a great cause
2019-02-06 07:09:54 PM richelle70 It is amazing how they remember words to the old hymns.
2019-02-06 07:10:02 PM rmcrow thats awesome
