2019-11-19 06:34:31 PM emilynb1 kathy, if nobody has responded to my messages regarding the final practicum assignment about discussing upcoming special events.. can i use the pre-halloween chat we had the time you were away?

2019-11-19 07:18:49 PM ronda The base chaplain is the best way to go. My husband is a chaplain here in Texas through the BGCT and we go to a week long conference evry year and the military chaplains were all saying to contact them and they can send soldier names for Christmas.

2019-11-19 07:19:48 PM adyson87 hello
2019-11-19 07:20:09 PM amanda We have a few committees that raise money all year with raffle baskets that help with getting residents some present and then the staff buys a lot as well.
2019-11-19 07:20:12 PM kathyhughes Then you should save your receipts and use it as a tax deducation
2019-11-19 07:20:15 PM tanya1 I do too, very little budget
2019-11-19 07:20:20 PM kathyhughes Hello Alvin

2019-11-19 07:20:29 PM isabel13 we do alot of fundraisers
2019-11-19 07:20:33 PM jklein912 Yeah I think thats almost a necessity to drop your own money to accomplish your own goals no matter how frowned upon it is.
2019-11-19 07:20:33 PM sryan if you use your own money always fill out a expence sheet and get reimbused
2019-11-19 07:20:35 PM splush2402 Good idea about the tax deductions! Thanks
2019-11-19 07:20:41 PM gayle78 They do love the socks!
2019-11-19 07:20:45 PM spassa I use my own money on alot
2019-11-19 07:20:47 PM kathyhughes then if your facility will not buy the residents gifts I would not worry about is
2019-11-19 07:20:50 PM kathyhughes it
2019-11-19 07:21:02 PM evetteh I use my own money too
2019-11-19 07:21:12 PM czuniga I work for the hospital side and we send christmas cards to the residents each year
2019-11-19 07:21:19 PM adyson87 Kathy, did you recieve the updates? Thank you so much for helping me out!!
2019-11-19 07:21:30 PM yvetter My facility just got bought out and we are stilll in the process of finding out the budget and the proccess so at the moment if we are in need of anything, we buy it ourselves and then save the reciepts and get reimbursed by the business office. they use their petty cash
2019-11-19 07:21:33 PM evetteh There's always a problem when I ask for money for an idea that I have
2019-11-19 07:21:44 PM kathyhughes So when you use your own money, work over 40 hours a week you are making less than minimum wage
2019-11-19 07:21:53 PM kathyhughes Alvin yes I did..
2019-11-19 07:22:01 PM angelalgreathouse I cant help but use mine . i see something when out and about and think that is something we need for the residents. just bought a lot of nail polish of ebay for them
2019-11-19 07:22:05 PM splush2402 Yes, I am
2019-11-19 07:22:09 PM adyson87 Thank you again Ms. Kathy!
2019-11-19 07:22:14 PM amanda There are a few organizations in our communtiy that donate gifts to our facility every year. Also a local bank will offer to buy for 7 or 8 residents that don't have family
2019-11-19 07:22:34 PM kathyhughes So perhaps you should take your skills and knowledge to a facility that supports the activities department
2019-11-19 07:22:49 PM monoliver If you dont have the budget or if your facilty wont buy them ask the community for help on FB I have people sending me ideas volunteering and even offering to make donations...Its there way of thinking they are making a difference when they have busy schedules
2019-11-19 07:22:53 PM spassa its a less than min job but i love the smiles and the thank you for all i do makes it all worth while
2019-11-19 07:22:54 PM jklein912 What she said
2019-11-19 07:23:04 PM gayle78 You can only do what you can do within the bounds of the facility.Sorry its tough to have a small budget.Definitly gear the holidays more towards home made gifts or "coupons" as gifts.Like "Take an extra prize at Bingo"or something special they like.
2019-11-19 07:23:05 PM tanya1 Then what can i do thats going to make up in an activity? What if im not allowed to ask for donations
